yesterday we went on our second atom ride to ansto. I remember sitting in the control room of hifar (the reactor that was built in the 1950’s) and getting bored with the science. I asked the engineer what the atmosphere was like working in the old reactor. I was expecting him to say something like “tense” instead his eyes lit up and he started recalling the wonderful work culture that they developed there. he wasn’t talking about working on a huge complicated machine, he was talking about working on a living, breathing creature. facinating



yesterday I took cyclesydney.org for a tour of the ansto nuclear research facility in lucas heights. I found the old hifar reactor so amazing. the height of 1950’s tech preserved in a perfect invironment
