trail safety notice
just passed this trail safety notice near the bike trail on a ride to williamstown. it was near scienceworks so I think its hobsons bay council
I like the second point from the bottom “no entry after dark” why would a council advise people not to use their cycling infrastructure during certain hours? most councils seem to be seriously promoting their bike paths. could they wash themselves of any responsibility if someone had an accident at night by simply putting a sign like this up?

Bikefun Full Moon Ride on the Yarra Trail last night
fantastic ride last night, my fav full moon ride for a long time (I did get bogged at the last one though…) great company, good speed and enough slidey sections to make things interesting (watching nik pilot his gazelle as it slid from one side of the track to the other was really something) thanks to nik/ned for organising
home!
I arrived back in melbourne last night after spending a week in sydney. it was wonderful catching up with old friends from my time in sydney as well as cousins. the highlight of my trip would have to be spending time with my cousin wayne on the central coast. I have never really met him, but my mum always used to speak very highly of him. really nice guy, we got along well together. its a consolation of my mothers passing to spend time with all the people that knew her well that I have never spent time with

The Chaser’s letter to the Queen
Dear Australian Head of State,
We would like to place ourselves at your mercy and request a stay of execution for our television program, The Chaser’s Royal Wedding Commentary.
We, like Kate, are commoners, and were looking forward to celebrating her wedding to your exalted grandson with a few affectionate observations.
To ensure that our coverage was respectful, we were only planning to use jokes that Prince Phillip has previously made in public, or at least the ones that don’t violate racial vilification laws. We’ve also filmed a joke about hunting grouse which we think you might enjoy.
We Australians are a simple people who don’t often get to watch that kind of pomp. The last big wedding we had here was Scott and Charlene on Neighbours. We’ve asked around, and there are at least six people in this outpost of your empire who would quite like to watch our commentary.
Please consider our plea.
We have the honour to be, Madam, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servants,
Cheers,
The Chaser
PS: How serious are you about treason laws?
